Time spent for research activities can count as time spent in GMA (graduate medical education) as long as requirements according to EU directive 2005/36 concerning minimum time in GMA are fulfilled and the necessary knowledge, experience and competencies have been acquired. First results from a project in Westfalia-Lippe are positive.
