This chapter combines publications on Science and Medicine for both 2013 and 2014, and this double year has permitted continuity in specialized topics among philosophy of science, history of science, history of medicine, medical sociology, and sociology of scientific knowledge, as well as science and technology studies. In science there were major critical studies on the sociology of science, a number of major social histories of science, and primary work in the philosophy of science in the analytic tradition. Likewise, for medicine there were both large-scale studies of the history of medicine as well as exciting, focused contributions on depression, anxiety and medical classification. In several instances for medicine, these new works appear in tandem with the new Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders 'DSM-5' (APA [2013]), which constitutes a major reconceptualization in the field and will have a significant impact on critical scholarship arising from clinical and scholarly work over the past twenty years, or thirteen since the millennial DSM-4-TR.
