The article presents a case study of a 31-year-old pregnant woman in Brazil who developed a maculopapular rash and was referred for assessment of fetal anatomy regarding ZIKV epidemic. Topics discussed include association of microcephaly with Zika virus outbreak, need for prenatal ultrasound for monitoring growth of fetus and diagnosis of abnormalities, and need for virological diagnosis of infants with microcephaly related to Zika virus.
