Abstract (English):
The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between emotional intelligence and quality of life domains, and the predictive validity of emotional skills over life satisfaction. In these terms, the self-reported measures of TMMS-24 and some facets of the WHOQOL-100 were applied to a sample of 418 Mexican youth. Results show that the subscales of emotional clarity and emotional repair reported significant correlations with life satisfaction, considered as one of the constructs of the quality of life, as well as significant correlations with others domains. Further regression analysis showed that, when controlling the psychological and social domains, emotional intelligence skills lose significance. Further studies are suggested in order to identify a possible mediating effect of these variables between emotional intelligence and life satisfaction. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
