Trans-embodiment and the biopolitics of reproduction in Orphan Black.

An essay is presented which examines how the television series "Orphan Black" treats the legality of gene patent and cloning. The essay examines the show's emphasis on bodily autonomy, biological plasticity and sexual and gender normativity. The queer theory is explored in the show's season two, episode eight, entitled "Variable and full of perturbation. The essay differentiates between sexual identity and gender expression. The highlights of the season two, episode six are also discussed.
