Since the Qumran pesharim do not comment on technical texts, while most Akkadian commentaries do, the author selected for the Akkadian corpus the few commentaries dealing with literary and religious texts. These commentaries are not representative of the corpus of Akkadian commentaries as a whole, and indeed it is questionable whether they should all be described as commentaries on "literary" texts (especially with respect to the incantations). The decision to choose a very limited and unrepresentative corpus of Akkadian commentaries that is related to the literary aspect of the biblical prophetic texts commented on in the pesharim, rather than a very large and representative Akkadian corpus that is related to the oracular aspect of the pesharim, should have been better justified.
