Two new mixed-ligand coordination polymers with the chemical formulae of [Co(3mad)(dpa)]n (1, 3mad = 3-methyladipate, dpa = 4,4′-dipyridylamine) and [Co(33dmg)(dpa)]n (2, 33dmg = 3,3-dimethylglutarate) have been successfully synthesized by the hydrothermal reaction of the Co(NO3)2·6H2O, methyl-substituted aliphatic dicarboxylic acid, and the hydrogen-bonding capable 4,4′-dipyridylamine (dpa) ligand. Furthermore, the treatment activity of compounds 1 and 2 against low transit constipation (STC) was evaluated in vivo. Firstly, the ELISA detection was conducted for the neurotransmitter measurement, such as acetylcholine and serotonin. Then, the intestinal transmission function was tested to reflect the treatment effect of compounds 1 and 2in vivo. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
