In the present paper, products in the form of vertical walls from superalloy ZhS6U were obtained by the wire-feed electron beam additive technology. Influence of additive process parameters on formation of structural elements and direction of their growth was shown. In addition, the features of temperature gradient formation, which is the main parameter of directional solidification, were described. It was established while determining the parameters of additive growth it is necessary to consider the following: the regime for obtaining defect-free products leads to the deflection of the growth direction of structures and the enlargement of structural elements. Achieved values of temperature gradients correspond to modern methods of directional solidification realization. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
