An aircraft cabin environment is affected by many factors during flights. To investigate the impact of passenger behavior on indoor air quality, three passenger behaviors, adjusting the seatback, turns on the gasper and exhale, were studied separately. An aircraft cabin mockup was used to obtain experimental measurements. The air velocity and contaminant distribution are important considerations in the cabin. The results show that the longitudinal airflow is enhanced after the occupant adjustment of the seatback angle, and this increases the risk of longitudinal transmission of contaminants. The result of the present work implied that the middle passengers turn on the gasper, which can reduce the risk of infection for passengers near the sidewall of the cabin. The concentration of sources released by passengers' sinusoidal exhale is higher than constant release sources. The passenger behavior has a great influence on the surrounding flow field and the microenvironment of pollutant distribution. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
