Atomic structure and dynamics in Debye plasmas are investigated by a series of methods including the classical, semi-classical and quantum-mechanical ones. It’s found that both the binding energies and number of bound states are reduced, and the wave functions become broaden due to the plasma screening interactions. Taking into account the Coulomb screening on the energy levels, wave functions and interactions, we have studied the photo processes, electron-impact processes and heavy particle collisions in a large plasma screening conditions. Our works demonstrated that the screening effect is important in the Debye plasmas, which should be considered in the simulation and diagnostics of plasmas. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
