The article presents a study on the preparation of a series of sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone) (SPEEK)/TiO2 hybrid membranes through sol-gel reaction. It says that water uptake and water retention increased as the TiO2 contents in the hybrid membranes increased, while the methanol permeability reduced when inorganic particles were introduced. It also mentions that the hydrophilic inorganic particles enhanced the proton conductivity.
