Scientists at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) developed a genetically engineered molecule of double-stranded RNA activated caspase oligomerizer (DRACO) that is effective against 15 viruses. Stem cells extracted from a patient's fat are being tested in heart-attack patients to repair damaged heart muscle. The invention of tactile pixels that simulate texture on touchscreen computers by Finnish company Senseg is mentioned.
