The article criticizes the U.S. government's policy on human abortion and the practice of abortion-on-demand. Survey research tells that the U.S. people do not want a legal regime of abortion-on-demand, for any reason, at any time during a pregnancy. The extent of the abortion license and its reach into other areas of law and public policy is widely underestimated. Many women in crisis earnestly seek alternatives to abortion. Pro-life service to women in crisis and pro-life advocacy on behalf of legal reform are expressions of highest ideals as citizens.
