A cost-benefit analysis is presented to evaluate the economic feasibility of carbon dioxide-enhanced oil recovery in Ohio. Integrating Ohio-specific data with reservoir performance and economic models, the analysis is applied to an oilfield in Ohio to illustrate application of the methodology. A break-even correlation is presented that may serve as a stand-alone metric for project screening purposes to determine the price conditions at which carbon dioxide becomes a viable purchase for EOR and a marketable asset for power plants with capture technology.
