The article discusses the author's experience while visiting a Chinese kindergarten in San Francisco, California. She noticed that all mission kindergartens have an afternoon instead of a morning session. The manners and clothing of preschoolers in the institution are explored. Furthermore, the author commented on children's understanding of modern pedagogical theories. Teachers at the institution are doing what they can to recognize schools and kindergartens in cramped quarters and under trying conditions.
