The authors examined master of business administration (MBA) degrees earned by women at U.S. higher education institutions at three specific years spanning a decade: 2003, 2008, and 2013 to determine whether there was a significant difference in the percentage of MBA degrees earned by women based on the independent variables of institutional type, specialized business accreditation body, institutional Carnegie classification, andU.S. News & World Reportpart-time MBA ranking quartile. Results found statistically significant differences for all variables examined. Women earn a significantly lower percentage of MBA degrees at Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business–accredited institutions, “very high” and “high” Research Carnegie classification institutions, public institutions, and topU.S. News & World Reportpart-time MBA ranking quartile institutions.
