The article discusses the de-Baathification policy in Iraq to remove the influence of Saddam Hussein led Baath Party in the country and compares it with the de-Nazification program in Germany after World War II. Topics discussed include the comparison of German leader Adolf Hitler with Hussein by former U.S. President George H. W. Bush, the policies adopted by the Allies to remove Nazi influence from Germany, and the invasion of Iraq by the U.S. in March 2003. Also mentioned is the role played by U.S. Central Intelligence Agency in de-Baathification.
