The article discusses what does it mean for students to be assessment capable and the ways to get students involved in the assessment process. It is the author’s view that motivation, goal setting, self-regulation, and feedback play significant roles in learning. The examples of classroom practices that build assessment-capable learners and transforming instructional practice are included.
