Christianity, Islam, and the UK Independence Party: Religion and British Identity in the Discourse of Right-Wing Populists.

The article represents the first focused examination of the United Kingdom Independence Party's (UKIP's) approach to religion. Topics discussed include the competing strategies that the party adopts in respect to the country's two largest self-defined religious communities, Christianity and Islam; presentation of Christianity as a core part of Britain's cultural heritage; and need of Islam to adapt to become compatible with British culture.
