Hachiyanagi did deliver a poinsettia to E. in the morning, but E. found it strange, because she had never before invited Hachiyanagi to her home. After E. was taken away in an ambulance, state police investigators, who were still under the impression that they were dealing with a home invasion, kept Hachiyanagi on site to conduct an interview. Hachiyanagi's defense attorney, Thomas Kokonowski, argued that she should be released on bail, and he disputed the prosecution's theory of Hachiyanagi's guilt. [Extracted from the article]
