The article presents a report of the Government Accountability Office recommending the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention to improve and develop a plan to respond to the use of culture-independent diagnostic tests (CIDTs). Topics include the availability of its framework for communication regarding multistate foodborne illness outbreaks; and the implementation of a performance assessment system.
