OBSERVING Going Deep Whenever I show the Andromeda Galaxy to the public, I remind each viewer that they're seeing the light of billions of individual stars so far and faint they blend into mist. PHOTO (COLOR): PLUCKING STARS NGC 206 is a vast and magnificent star cloud located within the spiral arms of the Andromeda Galaxy. Larger instruments reveal its tantalizing grainy texture, the additional cluster BH05, several Milky Way foreground stars and a small number of extremely faint cluster members.
