No More Invisible Kids.

The author argues that the most important benefit of the U.S. No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) is that the achievement gap for poor and minority students, English language learners, and students with disabilities is being addressed as schools focus more attention on these students' education. She profiles three schools who are benefitting from NCLB, and she reports on data from the Education Trust that demonstrates trends in student achievement. She addresses the question of how accountability can be translated into long-term gains and ultimately determines that raising achievement for all students and closing achievement gaps once and for all will require continued attention from Congress, policymakers, and educators.
