The article recalls the author's experiences with the installation of a radiophone in her home on an island in the Gulf of Alaska. The author describes the use of the radiophone and discusses the problems that accompany the phone. The author also examines the lack of privacy when calling from the phone and discusses the social aspects of telephones and radios.
