The article explores the constellation Aquila also known as the Eagle. The carbon star V Aquilae is one of the stars of the constellation. This star is said to look redder than an ordinary red giant because its atmosphere contains high amount of carbon-bearing molecules that absorb blue light. Three dark nebulae forming an arc are located north of the star 12 Aquilae. Other nebulae include NGC 6751, Barnard 134 and IC 4846. The spiral galaxy NGC 6814 is also part of the constellation.
