Teaching in Europe and Researching in the United States.

An essay is presented concerning the significance of location in the teaching of the narrative of U.S. history by European scholars in higher education and the research and teaching environment in European universities and colleges. It examines what is termed the marginality of U.S. history within most European history departments, the European higher education reform program known as the Bologna Process, and the separation of research and teaching requirements among European scholars in universities and colleges.
