The article presents a study which analyzes whether prolonged PR interval or first-degree atrioventricular block (AVB) is associated with arrhythmia or mortality in ambulatory persons. The study included 7575 participants of 20 years of age. The results show that prolonged PR interval or AVB predicts increased risk for AF (atrial fibrillation), pacemaker implantation, and mortality.
