Oregon, the "Beaver State," entered the Union on February 14, 1859, as the thirty-third state. It is located in the Pacific Northwest, and its western boundary is the Pacific Ocean. The state's other borders are with Washington (to the north), Idaho (to the west), and California and Nevada (to the south).
